Electrician

Overview

We are currently recruiting for Electrician’s on behalf of an award winning multi-disciplined building services and construction company.

They are a family run business which have been operating over 65 years and has seen a turnover of £43m. They have over 200 members of staff which work across various divisions in the business including Mechanical, Electrical, Construction and Renewable Energy.

Their clients are mainly housing associations and local authorities but they do cover commercial sectors too. We are seeking a Commercial Electrician to work on the Richmond and Wandsworth Contracts. You would be working on a variety of sites from parks and recreation grounds to office buildings.

These are permanent positions, working Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm (1 hour lunch), paying £41,600 - £45,760 per annum. If you complete the jobs earlier you will be able to finish once complete. You will receive van & fuel card, overtime, pension, perkbox, training and progression opportunities etc. 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays which will increase with length of service. There is also no call out rota.

After a probation period and if they are happy with the quality of your work they do also offer a price work incentive scheme. You would go onto a SOR time sheet where you would be paid based on what you complete. You will still be guaranteed a flat daily wage if you have a terrible day with no accesses but if you have a good day and get into all the properties and the SORS add total more you would be paid the higher rate. So as an example the flat rate works out to roughly £170 a day but most of their engineers rarely have a day below £200 normally averaging between £250 & £300 a day.

Responsibilities

* PPM servicing on Emergency Lighting and Fire Alarm systems.

* Reactive maintenance for electrical works in a commercial setting.

* Electrical testing.

* Fault-find effectively in an active commercial environment.

* To ensure the company Health and Safety policy is adhered to.

* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report findings.

Skills & Attributes

* 18th Edition or relevant qualification.

* ECS Gold card and 2391 are beneficial.

* Background in building services/facilities management would be beneficial.

* Someone self-motivated, who is able to work from their own initiative.

* Good communication and customer service skills.

* An excellent understanding of Health and Safety.

* Competent in the use of computers and data handling including Microsoft Office systems.

* Full UK Driving Licence.
