How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Division Supply Chain Manager

    Role Summary

    The Division Supply Chain Manager will lead the end-to-end supply chain function at our clients manufacturing site, in Barnstaple, supporting the delivery of highly engineered, precision products within a regulated environment.

    This role is responsible for driving operational excellence across sourcing, materials planning, inventory management, and logistics, ensuring best-in-class service levels, lead times, cost efficiency, and working capital performance. Working in close alignment with production, the Division Supply Chain Manager will ensure supply chain activities fully support manufacturing output, customer delivery, and business growth.

    The Division Supply Chain Manager  will lead a cross-functional team, the role will focus on developing a resilient and agile supplier network, strengthening planning and execution processes, and embedding continuous improvement across the site. Close collaboration with operations, engineering, and commercial teams will be key to aligning supply chain strategy with site and wider business objectives, while maintaining strong supplier performance, compliance, and long-term value creation.

    Role & Responsibilities

    Lead all supply chain management activities across sourcing, materials management, logistics, warehousing, transportation and trade compliance.
    Manage manufacturing and materials planning activities, considering capacity, workload scheduling, stock levels, quality requirements and make-versus-buy decisions.
    Establish supplier selection criteria based on price, quality, delivery, certification, compliance and wider group requirements.
    Negotiate long-term supplier agreements in line with group policies and support continuous improvement activity across the supply base.
    Drive inventory strategy, forecasting and replenishment processes to support production demand, service performance and cash flow optimisation.
    Facilitate the S&OP process and oversee strategic production planning to align short-term and long-term demand with materials availability.
    Develop contingency planning, supplier back-up programmes and risk mitigation strategies across quality, cost, dependency and business continuity.
    Lead transportation logistics and warehouse operations to ensure safe, compliant and cost-effective product distribution.
    Manage electronic integration across the supply chain and support standardised, automated re-order and delivery processes.
    Represent the Supply Chain function at divisional level, contributing to business strategy, performance improvement and cross-functional decision-making.
    Lead, coach and develop teams through effective performance management, mentoring, talent development and accountability.
    Requirements of the Role

    Degree (or equivalent) in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline.
    Proven experience leading and developing teams to deliver against supply chain KPIs and operational targets.
    Strong end-to-end supply chain expertise, including sourcing, materials planning, inventory management, and logistics.
    Demonstrated use of structured problem-solving methodologies, with strong analytical and root cause analysis capability.
    Advanced data analysis skills, with the ability to drive insight-led, evidence-based decision making.
    Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships both internally and externally.
    Proven ability to influence and operate at a senior organisational level.
    Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging teams, suppliers, and senior stakeholders.
    Experience in supplier management, vendor selection, and capacity planning within a complex supply base.
    Background working within a complex manufacturing or engineering environment.
