Client snapshot:
An excellent opportunity has been made available by my client, an established housing provider in the UK. My client has a large portfolio of supported living projects and offers generic housing management and supported housing services.
Vacancy Brief:
* The vacancy is that of an Activities Coordinator Support Worker.
* This is a potential temp to perm vacancy based in Grantham.
* Part Time hours, 23 per week.
* Shift Pattern: 6pm – 11pm
* The pay rate for this job is £13.98 per hour on PAYE OR £18.00 Umbrella
* This post will be shift–based consisting of morning and lates.
* Working Pattern: 4 on / 4 off schedule, primarily evenings.
* Full UK Driver’s License and access to a vehicle is preferrable.
* A current Enhanced DBS covering Child and Adult workforce will be required for this job role.
* Supporting Service User group of 16 – 18 or up to 21 if leaving care in self-contained single occupancy flats.
The Responsibilities:
* Provide person-centered support to 12 young people aged 16–18 living in self-contained flats within a large Grade II listed building.
* Collaborate with the manager to develop, plan, and deliver engaging evening activities and events from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
* Lead a small caseload while supporting all young people and other team members, promoting positive outcomes and wellbeing.
* Work closely with young people with histories of trauma and abuse, understanding their needs as children in care or children in need, using a “Team Around the Child” approach.
* Encourage young people’s participation in activities, supporting personal growth, social skills, and confidence.
* Maintain realistic, person-led goals for each young person, ensuring progress is recorded and shared appropriately.
* Support the wider team to maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
* Promote positive relationships and model good behavior, resilience, and independence skills.
Skill Outcomes of this role:
This role provides an excellent springboard for other criminal justice professions including experience of working with a range of criminal justice agencies.
In addition, you will gain experience in liaising local authority Housing Benefit departments and the DWP to resolve financial issues.
