    * Attending client meetings, conferences, and court hearings, advising on case strategy

    * Drafting and overseeing key legal documents (C100s, C1As, witness statements, etc.)

    * Supervising preparation of court bundles and liaising with counsel

    * Overseeing Legal Aid applications, amendments, and billing via CCMS

    * Ensuring compliance with file management, billing, and regulatory requirements

    * Conducting legal research to support case progression

    * Delivering high standards of client care, particularly for vulnerable clients

    Leadership & Supervision

    * Supervising solicitors, trainees, and paralegals in line with Legal Aid requirements

    * Supporting development of advocacy, case management, and client care skills

    * Delegating work effectively and monitoring quality

    * Conducting file reviews and providing structured feedback

    * Supporting training, mentoring, and internal development initiatives

    * Contributing to best practice, processes, and departmental improvements

    * Promoting a collaborative and inclusive team culture

    About You

    * Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales

    * Significant experience in Children Law, including private children and domestic abuse matters

    * Strong background in Legal Aid work and CCMS

    * Meets (or is working towards) Legal Aid supervisory requirements

    * Proven experience supervising or mentoring junior staff

    * Strong advocacy, organisational, and case management skills

    * Confident handling complex and sensitive matters

    The Opportunity

    * Senior role with genuine influence over departmental direction

    * High-quality, meaningful work supporting children and families

    * Clear progression pathway within a growing practice

    * Competitive salary, bonus structure, and long-term career prospects
