    Catering & Learning Support Assistant | Alternative Provision | Burton on Trent (DE11) | £95-£105 per day | Full Time | Permanent | Start ASAP

    Overview:

    Long Term Futures are working in partnership with a well-established Trust to appoint a Catering & Learning Support Assistant within an Alternative Provision setting in Burton on Trent (DE11). This is a unique and varied role combining catering responsibilities with a Learning Support Assistant position, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and supporting young people with additional needs.

    As a Catering & Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in both the smooth running of catering provision and supporting pupils in the classroom. The provision supports pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs, providing a structured and nurturing setting to help them re-engage with education.

    The Role:

    Support with the preparation and distribution of breakfast, break-time snacks, and lunch (minimal food prep required, meals are delivered from another site)
    Ensure catering service runs smoothly and maintain a clean, safe environment
    Work as a Learning Support Assistant, supporting pupils within lessons, particularly practical food sessions
    Support students with engagement, behaviour, and routines throughout the school day
    Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff to support pupil development
    Full time, 37 hours per week - 8:10am to 3:50pm (4:20pm Thursdays)
    You must have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance (45p per mile)
    This role requires you to be physically and mentally fitAbout You:

    Experience working with young people or within a school, SEN, or Alternative Provision setting (desirable)
    Comfortable working in both catering and classroom environments
    Previous Learning Support Assistant experience is required
    A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
    Strong teamwork and communication skills
    Willingness to support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
    Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain)Why Long Term Futures:
