Our client are a successful and well established engineering company with a proven track record in their industry and are looking for a Machine Operator or Forklift Operator to join their team. The successful candidate will ideally have worked within a stockholding environment (either Steel, Aluminium or Wood or Engineering) and have experience of operating cutting machines, with some understanding of working from drawings. You will also hold a forklift licence (Reach and Counterbalance preferred - will accept inhouse), although they will consider candidates who only hold a Counterbalance certificate.
Duties of the Machine Operator will involve:
Operating Saw Machines to cut material to size (will train)
Loading and Unloading vehicles
Putting stock away on racking
Order picking and packing
Taking part in stock checks (as and when required)
The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role and have excellent attention to detail, as well as good numeracy and literacy skills. This role will involve a mixture of forklift work to unload vehicles, as well as some handballing.
