How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client is a leading distributor of water treatment plant to the construction, rail and utilities sectors and due to continued expansion Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Field Service Engineer (Water Treatment Plant).

    The successful candidate will be an electrical bias engineer and you will carry installation, service and repair of water treatment plant throughout Central England.

    £45K - £48K + OT + Bonus OTE £55K +

    The Role:

    Reporting to the service manager you will be responsible for installations, service, repair and testing of water treatment plant at various industrial locations in your area.

    Duties will include but is not limited to the following;

    Installation and commissioning water treatment plant including filtration, dosing units, osmosis plant, modular units, settlement tanks, monitoring equipment and more.
    Mechanical maintenance and repair pumps, motors, pipe work, filters
    Electrical fault find and repair of control panels, wiring etc etc
    Interrogate plc control systems Candidate:

    You will be an experienced multi-skilled engineer with excellent electrical fault find and repair skills and you should have previous experience and knowledge of water treatment plant.

    You will have a recognised electrical mechanical engineering qualification e.g. NVQ3, 18th edition etc etc.

    Ideally you will have a valid UK driving licence.

    There will be travel throughout the midlands region and occasionally throughout the UK to under take your duties.

    Hours of work:

    Monday to Friday 7.30am -4.30pm + OT
