How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity
    A rare opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to join a well‑established contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high‑quality projects across the commercial, community, healthcare, hospitality, education, defence and retail sectors. This is a stable, supportive, people‑focused business with excellent staff retention and a consistent pipeline of work. You will join a growing operational team and take responsibility for multiple projects while working within an environment that values long‑term development, balance and strong working relationships.

    The Role
    Office based with regular site visits.
    Managing projects typically ranging from £200,000 to £2 million.
    Overseeing programmes, risk, quality and delivery.
    Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
    Working closely with commercial and site teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
    Exposure to a wide variety of schemes, offering both stability and progression.

    Person Specification
    We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager, Project Manager or an ambitious Site Manager ready to step up. A construction background with a main contractor is essential. Candidates must have a stable career history and a genuine desire for a long‑term, permanent role. At least five years’ experience in a Contracts Manager, Project Manager or senior Site Manager position is required, along with experience delivering projects between £200,000 and £2 million. A strong understanding of JCT contracts is essential and knowledge of NEC is an advantage. You should be confident managing multiple projects, overseeing programmes, managing risk and ensuring compliance. Good IT skills are required, and experience with programme software is helpful but not essential.
