Who will you be working for?

Start your journey as a Team Leader within this fantastic 2 Bedded EBD home in Walsall Wood!

This is a relatively new organisation with one small children’s home currently in Walsall with plans to expand into the Wednesbury area. They have been registered for just over a year and support young people that display social and emotional difficulties, behaviours that challenge, and come from traumatic backgrounds using a therapeutic PACE approach, informed by principles of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).

You would be supported by an incredible senior management duo with prior success achieving Outstanding with Ofsted as Registered & Deputy Managers, now excelling in the Responsible Individual and Home Manager capacities, respectively. They are looking for an excellent individual with a drive to learn and progress with the organisation as they expand and look to identify their next class of managers in-house.

    The Package & Benefits:

    * Basic pay: £15 - £16 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, plus £50 per sleep-in

    * Estimated package: Earn up to £36,720 per annum, based on 10 sleep-ins per month

    * Shift Pattern: 10am starts on a 2 on 4 off shift pattern!

    * Annual Leave: Use 2 days annual leave and receive up to 10 days off in a row!

    * Professional Development: Opportunity to complete a fully funded & accredited Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare qualification, paid induction program, and continuous training opportunities, including the therapeutic ‘PACE’ approach, and more!

    What Will The Role Entail?

As a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will be the backbone of the staff team whilst on shift. You will pull from your experience working in children’s homes to manage and lead your passionate team to ensure smooth operation of the home and second-to-none delivery of care for young people.

The Successful Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker Candidate Will Excel At:

    * Communicating effectively with young people, your colleagues, families, and external professionals. Shift-leading, problem-solving, and being calm under pressure is vital for a Senior.

    * Key-working with young people, considering their thoughts, wishes, and feelings, promoting life skills and independence, encouraging them to engage in education, activities, and hobbies. Most importantly, readying them for adult life when they leave care.

    * Developing and reviewing Ofsted required paperwork such as care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments, to name a few.

    * Following Ofsted’s regulations related to Quality Standards and understanding safeguarding policies and procedures.

    * Understanding the operations of the home regarding Health and Safety, medication administration, cleanliness and finances.

Requirements for the Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker role:

    * 2+ years’ experience working specifically within a children’s home environment

    * Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

    * Full UK Manual Driving Licence and access to a vehicle

    * Flexibility to carry out the shift pattern described at the top of the advert, including sleep-ins

    * A genuine passion for supporting the well-being and healthy development of young people
