    Job description

IT Systems Analyst Salary: up to £50,000 12‑Month Fixed Term Contract – Birmingham / West Midlands Remote – with 1 day PW on client site

Are you an experienced IT Systems Analyst looking to join a forward‑thinking organisation where you can make a real impact? We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled professional to support the delivery, maintenance, and optimisation of core IT infrastructure and services across multiple UK sites.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on technical work, values high service standards, and thrives in a busy environment that blends operational support with project delivery.

    The Role

As the IT Systems Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the organisation’s technology platforms. You will work closely with the Enterprise Architect, managed service providers, and onsite teams to support infrastructure, deliver enhancements, and integrate new services into the existing environment.

This is a diverse role involving 3rd‑line technical support, automation/scripting, change management, documentation, and regular travel to UK sites. You’ll contribute directly to service availability, compliance, and continuous improvement across the technology estate.

    Key Responsibilities

Deliver hands‑on technical support and operational management of core infrastructure services across UK sites.
Integrate new systems and platforms into the organisation’s network and domain, including planning, testing, deployment, and post‑go‑live support.
Support and maintain clinical/business applications and their underlying infrastructure, ensuring performance and availability.
Provide 3rd‑line incident diagnosis and resolution, including root-cause analysis and long‑term remediation.
Conduct regular site visits to support local teams, validate deployments, and assist during outages or major incidents.
Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus).
Automate operational processes using PowerShell and other tools to streamline configurations, patching, and deployment activities.
Lead or support change management: risk assessments, implementation plans, communication, and post‑implementation reviews.
Monitor performance and capacity with MSPs, identifying improvements and ensuring service levels are met.
Produce technical documentation, runbooks, diagrams, incident reports, and progress updates for stakeholders.
Collaborate with clinical, operational, and vendor teams to ensure smooth service delivery and minimal disruption.
Participate in out‑of‑hours maintenance or incident response when required.
About You — Experience & Qualifications

    Essential:

Based within the west midlands or reasonable commuting distance
4+ years of hands‑on infrastructure experience in a medium/large enterprise environment.
Strong experience with Windows Server, Windows client environments, and hybrid AD/Azure AD.
    Azure administration experience (IaaS/PaaS).
Practical expertise with Microsoft 365, including Intune, Entra ID, and Exchange Online.
Solid networking knowledge (LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, routing).
Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and operational recovery testing.
Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
Experience with change management and stakeholder engagement.
Familiarity with data protection and information security frameworks.
    Desirable:

Relevant certifications (Azure Administrator, M365 Certified, MCSE).
Experience with endpoint management and imaging tools.
Knowledge of monitoring tools, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
    Healthcare or clinical systems experience.
    Linux or containerisation (Docker) knowledge.
Experience supporting migrations, deployments, or M&A integrations.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to have autonomy in their role while delivering leading tech services to a client in the healthcare space. Apply now for immediate consideration
