    SEN Teaching Assistant
    Location: Newham, London
    Contract Type: Full-time
    Start Date: Immediate

    We are looking to appoint a dedicated, compassionate, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive secondary school in Newham. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs.

    About the Role

    As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support, helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential. You will collaborate with teachers and the SENCo to deliver tailored support both in and out of the classroom.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN
    Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
    Support students with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties
    Help manage behaviour in line with the school's policies
    Promote inclusion and independence among students
    Liaise with teaching staff and external professionals where required

    The Ideal Candidate

    Has experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs (desirable but not essential)
    Is patient, empathetic, and resilient
    Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
    Is adaptable and able to respond to individual student needs
    Is committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
