    Job description

    Quality Manager

    Due to continued expansion, we are recruiting a Quality Manager to oversee product quality and support continuous improvement within our client's manufacturing operation. This role will focus on ensuring consistent product quality, managing quality systems and driving improvements in manufacturing processes. 

    Role Overview: 

    The Quality Manager will be responsible for maintaining and improving the company’s quality systems, ensuring products meet required specifications, and supporting the production team in delivering consistently high-quality products.

    The role works closely with production, procurement and compliance teams to ensure products meet both internal and customer quality expectations. Communication and resolution plans around quality for customers is also a key aspect of this role.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Quality Management:

    Maintain and improve the company Quality Management System. 

    Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards including ISO 9001. 

    Develop and maintain quality procedures and documentation. 

    Production Quality:

    Implement and manage quality control processes within the factory. 

    Conduct regular product inspections and process audits. 

    Ensure products meet required specifications and manufacturing standards. 

    Monitor and report on quality performance and defect trends. 

    Continuous Improvement:

    Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and product quality. 

    Lead root cause investigations into quality issues. 

    Implement corrective and preventative actions. 

    Supplier Quality:

    Work with procurement to ensure supplier materials meet required standards. 

    Manage supplier quality issues and corrective actions. 

    Customer Quality:

    Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions. 

    Work with operations to reduce recurring issues. 

    Internal Auditing: 

    Conduct internal audits of manufacturing and quality processes. 

    Support external audits where required. 

    Management: 

    Manage a team of around 5 direct reports in shop floor Quality Inspection roles. 

    Skills & Experience Required: 

    Experience working in a Quality Manager or Senior Quality role within manufacturing. 

    Strong understanding of quality systems and quality control processes. 

    Experience conducting internal audits. 

    Ability to analyse quality data and implement improvements. 

    Strong communication and leadership skills. 

    Knowledge of ISO 9001. 

    Experience with factory production control systems.
