Join us as a MultiSkilled Engineer in our exam processing operation, where your expertise will sit at the heart of a missioncritical environment where reliability, precision and problemsolving truly count.

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

    About the role

We are looking for a MultiSkilled Engineer to help keep our advanced exam processing operation running smoothly, safely and reliably. This is a handson role working with complex, hightech equipment where your expertise keeps essential systems performing at their best — and supports thousands of learners around the world.

You will thrive here if you enjoy variety, technical challenge and problemsolving. From preventative and reactive maintenance to faultfinding on bespoke automation and PLCcontrolled systems, no two days will be the same, and your impact will be clear every day.

Reliability and precision sit at the heart of this role. By keeping equipment availability high and responding quickly when issues arise, you will help us meet demanding service levels and maintain our reputation for accuracy, quality and trust.

You will join a small, supportive engineering team where ideas are encouraged, knowledge is shared and continuous improvement matters. It's a role with real purpose, real responsibility and the chance to make a visible difference.

Flexible working requests will be considered from the first day of employment, including other work arrangements should you require adjustments due to a disability or long-term health condition.

    About You

You will be a hands on, proactive engineer who enjoys working in a fastpaced environment and takes real pride in keeping complex equipment running at its best.

You bring strong technical capability, a sense of ownership and a commitment to doing things properly, even under pressure.

You are naturally curious and enjoy understanding how systems work, diagnosing issues and finding practical, effective solutions. Problemsolving comes naturally to you, whether you're carrying out routine maintenance or responding calmly to unplanned breakdowns in a timecritical setting.

Just as important is your mindset. You value teamwork, communicate clearly and enjoy contributing to continuous improvement. You are motivated by high standards, reliability and being part of an organisation with a clear purpose — and you're keen to keep learning, sharing knowledge and supporting others to develop.

We are looking for someone who brings:

    * A recognised NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering (or equivalent), with strong electrical, mechanical and control systems knowledge

    * Confidence in faultfinding across complex equipment, including PLC logic and schematics

    * A calm, methodical approach, able to prioritise effectively in a high volume, operational environment

    * A collaborative mindset, building positive relationships with colleagues, suppliers and manufacturers

If you meet the above minimum requirements, we encourage you to apply.

Your application will be even stronger if you can also demonstrate the following desirable criteria:

    * Experience working in a high-quality and high-volume pressured environment, or background in manufacturing, distribution and materials handling

    * Experience working with CMMS systems

For a detailed job description, please refer to the link at the bottom of the advert on our careers site.
