How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Working as part of a collaborative project team, you will lead the end-to-end delivery across design, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.

This is a key leadership role within a technically complex environment, offering the opportunity to play a pivotal role in a landmark development.

    What You’ll Do

Lead the day-to-day management of the mechanical package, ensuring delivery to programme, budget and quality expectations

Ensure full compliance across design, engineering, construction and commissioning processes

Add value through design review and challenge, improving buildability, programme efficiency and reducing whole-life cost and carbon

Manage procurement, logistics and installation strategy across your scope

Develop and maintain robust project controls and reporting processes

Take ownership of programme delivery, including development, monitoring and mitigation planning (Plan B scenarios)

Coordinate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, consultants and client stakeholders

Capture and share lessons learned to support continuous improvement across the business

    What You’ll Bring

Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within a Tier One contractor or leading MEP contractor environment

Strong track record delivering large-scale, technically complex MEP projects, ideally within life sciences, healthcare or commercial sectors

Demonstrable experience managing multiple interfaces, disciplines and work sequencing

Strong leadership capability with experience leading teams and driving performance

Excellent understanding of mechanical building services systems and full project lifecycle delivery

Formal Health & Safety qualifications, minimum SMSTS

Strong commercial awareness and client-facing capability

    Why Join

Opportunity to work on a flagship life sciences development in Cambridge

Be part of a high-performing project team delivering a technically complex scheme

Strong pipeline of future work within the sector

    Collaborative and forward-thinking working environment

Competitive salary and package with clear career progression opportunities
