    Job description

    Role Overview:

    We are seeking a proactive and organised Licensing Administrative Assistant to support the day‑to‑day operations of the Licensing Team. The role focuses on processing applications, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring all administrative tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. Licensing experience is preferred, but strong administrators with good communication and IT skills will also be considered.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Licensing Administration:

    *

    Process a range of licensing applications in line with legislation and internal procedures.

    *

    Maintain accurate records and update internal systems.

    *

    Print and prepare taxi plates, badges, and related documentation.

    *

    Produce letters, reports, and typed documents as required.

    Customer Service:

    *

    Respond to telephone and email enquiries from applicants, license holders, and the public.

    *

    Provide clear guidance on application requirements and processes.

    *

    Handle queries professionally and escalate where necessary.

    General Office Support:

    *

    Take meeting notes and prepare minutes.

    *

    Support the team with filing, scanning, and general administrative duties.

    *

    Assist with organising meetings, appointments, and workflow.

    *

    Ensure all tasks are completed within agreed timescales.

    Skills & Experience Required:

    *

    Previous licensing experience is desirable but not essential.

    *

    Strong administrative background with excellent attention to detail.

    *

    Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems.

    *

    Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.

    *

    Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and work to deadlines.

    *

    Previous expereince within housing associations or councils.

    If you have strong administrative experience, good IT skills, and enjoy a role that involves customer contact, organisation, and attention to detail, then we’d love to hear from you. Licensing experience is an advantage, but we also welcome applications from confident administrators who are keen to learn and support the Licensing Team.
