How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teaching Assistant

    Salary Scale: £14.24 to £15.33 per hour

    GSL Education are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in Compton. In this role, you will provide dedicated support to students with sensory and speech difficulties, helping them access the curriculum and succeed in the classroom. They need a dedicated individual who can implement behaviour management strategies and positively influence students’ learning experiences.

    Many students also have additional needs such as autism, speech and language challenges, or medical conditions. The school offers a broad and balanced curriculum with a strong focus on outdoor learning, life skills, the arts, and preparation for adulthood. There is a whole-school emphasis on communication, independence, and personal development, ensuring pupils are well-prepared for their next stage in life. Staff are highly valued, with excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression.

    We are looking for an empathetic and driven SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team and make a lasting impact. In this role, you will:

    Provide tailored one-to-one and group support
    Encourage independence and life skills development
    Support creative and outdoor learning activities
