How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Polytec are looking for a Mechanical Engineer for a local technology company to support the transition of products from development into production. This role will focus on improving manufacturability, developing processes and supporting ongoing production operations.

    Responsibilities:
    - Support the introduction of new products into manufacturing, ensuring designs are suitable for production and assembly
    - Collaborate with design teams to deliver practical, manufacturable mechanical solutions
    - Design and develop tooling, fixtures, jigs and test equipment
    - Create and maintain clear assembly instructions, build procedures and production documentation
    - Establish and improve manufacturing processes to ensure consistency, quality and efficiency
    - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, improve quality and shorten build times
    - Provide hands-on support to resolve mechanical issues in production and testing environments
    - Carry out root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues
    - Support engineering change and configuration control processes
    - Work closely with manufacturing, quality and supply chain teams, including supplier interaction where required

    Requirements:
    Essential:
    - Degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering or similar
    - Experience in manufacturing, production engineering or mechanical design
    - Proficient with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks or similar)
    - Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and assembly methods
    - Experience designing tooling, fixtures or test equipment
    - Proven problem-solving skills within a production environment
    - Strong communication and documentation skills
    - Able to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
    - Hands-on, proactive and adaptable approach

    Desirable:
    - Experience supporting products from prototype to production is beneficial
    - Knowledge of DFM/DFA, lean manufacturing and engineering change processes is advantageous
