    Job description

Worthing College, part of the Chichester College Group

International Student Support Officer [Ref: WC4176]

    £26,431 - £26,972 per annum

37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Are you looking for a role where you can make a difference to young people’s lives? Do you enjoy meeting students and supporting them to achieve their goals? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

We have an exciting opportunity available for an International and Accommodation Student Support Officer to work within our busy International team across the Chichester College Group, predominantly being based at our Worthing College campus.

Chichester College Group residential provision has been recognised as Outstanding by Ofsted Care Standards for the past 19 years and we are extremely proud of the high-quality accommodation and welfare provision we provide to our students. This role plays a key part in ensuring our international and accommodated students feel supported, safe and able to succeed during their time with us.

This is a varied and rewarding role, where you will support our students with day-to-day enquiries, welfare and wellbeing concerns. You will work closely with the Accommodation team, Pastoral Support Tutors and the wider college team to ensure students receive the support they need throughout their time with us.

We are looking for a highly motivated and approachable individual who enjoys working with young people and building positive relationships. The role offers the opportunity to work independently, take ownership of the role and shape how you support students on a day-to-day basis, whilst being part of a wider supportive and collaborative team.

You will need to be confident in managing your own workload, responding proactively to student needs and liaising with staff, parents, agents and host providers.

During the summer months you will relocate to our Chichester Campus to support the team with our busy international summer school.

You will have previous experience working in a customer focused or student support environment. You will have strong communication and organisational skills, be comfortable using Microsoft Office and be able to manage a range of administration and pastoral responsibilities.

The role will require you to travel out to other campuses across the College Group.

    Our Staff Benefits:

We have a fantastic range of staff benefits, highly competitive against what is offered by the private sector and other organisations, including:

Local Government Pension Scheme – the Group contributes 15% of your actual pensionable pay.

25 days annual leave, increasing to 28 days in line with continuous service, plus bank holidays and college closure days over the Christmas period which are not deducted from annual leave entitlement.

Plus, the opportunity to purchase up to 5 days additional leave.

Discount schemes – including discounts on shopping, restaurants, travel and onsite facilities such as our gym and First Steps Childcare nurseries (specific campuses only).

Family friendly policies – including enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption pay (dependant on continuous service).

Continuous professional development opportunities – including development days, funded apprenticeships and access to a range of other courses and activities.

And much more - check out the Staff Benefits booklet attached to this advert for more information about our fantastic range of benefits available to staff.

Working in a vibrant and inclusive further education college is an inspiring experience. Our staff have a relentless focus on delivering outstanding teaching, learning and support, where you'll encounter a diverse student body, a positive atmosphere, ample support services, innovative teaching methods, community engagement and a celebration of individual differences. It's an environment that fosters personal growth and collaboration, to change lives through learning.

Set in a fantastic 18-acre parkland campus, Worthing College provides a friendly and supportive environment that fosters personal growth and collaboration, to change lives through learning.

We actively encourage applications from those seeking, job shares, or other flexible working arrangements. Whether you're balancing caring responsibilities, pursuing personal goals, or simply seeking a healthier rhythm between life and work, we’re here to support you. Our roles are designed with adaptability in mind and at the heart of our people strategy is a commitment to an inclusive environment where different ways of working are not only accommodated but celebrated.
