How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you a qualified finance leader ready to bring strategic clarity to a growing group of businesses? Could your next role give you genuine influence at board level — with the autonomy to build something that lasts?

    Group Head of Finance | Norwich | £Excellent

    We're proud to be working with an established, multi-entity business group based in Norwich, with a combined turnover of just over £20 million across multiple companies. This is a newly-created senior appointment — a real opportunity to step in, shape the finance function, and leave your mark.

    Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll have full responsibility for financial leadership across the group. That means consolidated and statutory accounts, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow, compliance, and risk — but also something more interesting: the chance to rationalise and develop a finance team spread across the group's entities, and potentially recruit into it. If you enjoy building as much as running, this will suit you well.

    The group operates across Sage 200 and Xero, and there's a genuine openness to reviewing systems — so if you've got views on how finance tech can drive efficiency, they'll be heard.

    What my client is looking for:

    You'll be ACA or ACCA qualified (CIMA considered for an outstanding candidate), with a solid background in multi-entity or group finance. You'll be equally comfortable producing a set of consolidated accounts and presenting commercial insight to a leadership team. Strong people leadership matters here — there's a team to develop and a culture of accountability to embed.

    You'll also need to be someone who takes integrity seriously, communicates clearly upward and downward, and thrives when given genuine ownership.
