How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Graduate Engineer (Civil / Structural)

    £28,000 - £32,000 + Training + Progression + Private Healthcare + Excellent Company Benefits
    Rushden, Northamptonshire (Commutable from: Northampton, Wellingborough, Kettering, Bedford, Corby, Higham Ferrers, Thrapston, Olney, Milton Keynes, Rushden Lakes, Earls Barton)

    Are you a Civil or Structural Engineering graduate with an understanding of steel structures, looking to take your first step into industry with a company that offers strong training and development?

    This is a great opportunity to join an experienced and supportive team, where you will gain hands-on experience and develop your technical skills while working on a range of interesting engineering projects.

    The company are well established within their sector, delivering specialist solutions across the construction industry and working on a variety of high profile projects. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to bring in a Graduate Engineer to strengthen their team.

    The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in structural or steel design and be motivated to build a long term career within engineering.

    The Role:

    Design of steel structures / equipment (using AutoCAD)
    Finite element analysis and calculations
    Working within a small and highly experienced team
    Monday to Friday, office based role
    The Person:

    Civil or Structural Engineering graduate (or graduating this year - min 2:1)
    Must have knowledge of structural steel, or have had a focus on it before
    Experience with CAD
    Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA)
    Good IT skills
