How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you a creative and technically minded Product Design Engineer who loves turning ideas into real-world products? This is a great opportunity to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business, delivering innovative vehicle-based products in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

    The Company

    This specialist manufacturer designs and builds premium accessories and assemblies, supplying niche products to a high-spec customer base. Their reputation is built on robust product design, in-house engineering, and a focus on functionality, form, and performance. The business combines engineering expertise with a strong brand identity to deliver distinctive, user-focused products.

    The Role

    As a Product Design Engineer, you’ll work across the full lifecycle — from concept generation and CAD modelling to prototyping and production support. You’ll help bring bold product ideas to life, balancing design flair with sound engineering principles.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Design components, assemblies, and mechanisms for use in demanding external environments.

    * Use SolidWorks to create and manage 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs and related data.

    * Collaborate with in-house teams and suppliers to ensure smooth transition from prototype to production.

    * Support the development of products including roof racks, mounts, and accessories.

    * Contribute to brand evolution by designing products that align with company DNA and user experience expectations.

    * Solve real-world problems by reworking or improving existing designs based on customer feedback and field use.

    The Person

    We're looking for someone who enjoys variety, thrives on creative problem-solving, and has a strong foundation in product development for physical products.

    You’ll need:

    * HND/Degree in Product Design Engineering or related subject (Level 5/6).

    * Solid 3D CAD skills – ideally SolidWorks and PDM.

    * Experience designing extrusions, castings, fabricated and welded assemblies.

    * An eye for detail, pride in your work, and the ability to manage multiple design projects.

    Package & Benefits

    * Salary: Up to £40,000 (depending on experience)

    * Holidays: 23 days + bank holidays

    * Working Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday

    * On-site parking

    * Involvement in new product innovation and development from day one
