This established Chartered practice delivers high-profile, large-scale schemes across the commercial, retail, logistics, and residential sectors, with project values often exceeding £100m. Operating from a modern, open-plan studio overlooking Harrogate, the practice has built a reputation for combining technical excellence with a collaborative, people-first culture—offering flexible working, strong mentoring, and genuine career advancement opportunities.

    The Role

This is an ideal opportunity for a Project Architect ready to take the next step—someone who is confident running projects but is now looking to expand their influence, leadership, and strategic involvement within a growing practice.

    Key Responsibilities:

Taking ownership of projects across all RIBA stages (0–7)

Leading client relationships, brief development, and design coordination

Managing project programmes, resources, and delivery outputs

Preparing and overseeing planning applications and design proposals

Producing and reviewing technical drawing packages and specifications

Coordinating multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and contractors

Leading site meetings and ensuring design quality through to completion

Supporting Directors in project strategy and contributing to business development

Mentoring junior team members and contributing to team growth

    About You

We’re looking for a well-rounded Project Architect who combines strong design sensibility with technical expertise and is motivated to step into a more senior, leadership-focused role.

    Essential Skills & Experience:

ARB registered Architect with strong post-Part III experience

Proven track record of project running and delivery on site

Experience across multiple RIBA stages, particularly 3–7

Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing

Proficiency in Revit and a solid understanding of BIM workflows

Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines

Strong communication, leadership, and organisational abilities

    Desirable:

Experience on large-scale commercial, logistics, retail, or residential projects

    Knowledge of NBS Create

Understanding of Principal Designer (CDM) responsibilities

Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff

    What’s on Offer

    Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 (depending on experience)

Clear progression pathway to Senior Architect / Associate level

25 days holiday rising to 32 with service

    Performance and profit-related bonus

    Paid professional memberships

Ongoing Revit/BIM training and development support

Flexible / agile working (including WFH options)

    Monthly Wellness Day

    Private healthcare (Aviva)

    Pension scheme

Cycle to Work scheme & childcare vouchers

    Employee discounts portal

Regular social events and company away days

    Why Join?

This is a standout opportunity for a career-driven Project Architect looking to move beyond project delivery into leadership and strategic influence. You’ll be supported by experienced Directors, given real responsibility, and positioned for rapid progression within a dynamic and growing practice.
