    About the Company

    A quality-focused housing developer known in the market for delivering high-specification homes seeks a diligent and motivated Assistant Site Manager to join its team on a development in Spondon. The company prides itself on craftsmanship, attention to detail, and delivering exceptional new build housing projects.

    Job Purpose

    To support the Site Manager in the effective management and delivery of traditional new build housing developments, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the high standards expected by the company and its customers.

    Key Responsibilities

    Assist in planning, organising, and supervising day-to-day site activities to maintain progress and quality standards.
    Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies, promoting a safe working environment for all personnel and visitors.
    Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth operations and resolve site issues promptly.
    Monitor and report on site progress, identifying risks and implementing corrective measures where necessary.
    Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records including site diaries, quality check sheets, and health and safety documentation.
    Support the Site Manager in managing resources, materials, and equipment efficiently to meet project timelines.
    Conduct regular site inspections to ensure workmanship meets company and regulatory standards.
    Participate in toolbox talks and site meetings, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
    Assist in the induction and supervision of new site personnel.

    Required Qualifications

    Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificate.
    Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
    Valid First Aid qualification.
    Full United Kingdom driving licence.

    Education and Experience

    Minimum of two years’ experience as an Assistant Site Manager on traditional new build housing projects.
    Proven experience in house building and construction site management.
    Educated to a level demonstrating competence in construction principles and site management.

    Knowledge and Skills

    Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and workmanship standards for new build housing.
    Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
    Good communication skills to liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
    Competent in using site management software and Microsoft Office applications.
    Ability to work proactively and use initiative to solve problems and improve site performance.
    Commitment to maintaining high safety standards and promoting a positive site culture.

    Working Conditions

    Based on a live construction site in Spondon, East Midlands.
    Regular exposure to outdoor working environments and varying weather conditions.
    Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory at all times on site.
    Flexible working hours to meet project demands, including occasional early starts and late finishes.
    Driving to and from site and between subcontractor locations as required.
