The Role
A specialty chemicals business is looking for an Analytical Chemistry Lead to manage their laboratory operations. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you’ll lead a small team, ensure ISO9001 compliance, and deliver high-quality analytical support to production and R&D.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day Analytical laboratory operations and prioritise workload
* Mentor and develop QC Analysts
* Perform and oversee analysis (GC, HPLC, FTIR, KF, titrations)
* Review data, ensure accuracy, and maintain ERP records
* Develop and validate analytical methods
* Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment
* Support audits, CAPA, and continuous improvement
About You
* Degree in Chemistry (or equivalent experience)
* Strong hands-on analytical experience (GC, HPLC, FTIR, KF)
* Experience in analytical troubleshooting
* Background in manufacturing (chemicals/pharma preferred)
* Knowledge of ISO9001 and QC systems
* Organised, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
