    This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient operation of site equipment by delivering both planned preventative maintenance and reactive engineering support across production, utilities and facilities.

    A key focus of the role will be valve maintenance and equipment reliability, alongside supporting continuous improvement initiatives and new machinery projects within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Engineering & Maintenance

    * Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across manufacturing equipment, utilities and site facilities.

    * Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults, minimising downtime and supporting continuous production.

    * Ensure all engineering work complies with GMP, Health & Safety and company standards.

    Valve & Equipment Reliability

    * Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on manual and automated process valves across water, air, CIP and product lines.

    * Troubleshoot recurring faults, conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term reliability improvements.

    * Monitor system performance to prevent leaks, contamination risks and pressure failures.

    Continuous Improvement & Projects

    * Support continuous improvement initiatives and the introduction of new machinery to improve safety, hygiene, quality and operational performance.

    * Proactively recommend improvements to increase plant efficiency and reduce unplanned downtime.

    Collaboration & Reporting

    * Maintain accurate engineering logs and maintenance records.

    * Support the management of spare parts inventory.

    * Work closely with production teams, engineering colleagues and external contractors to ensure safe and effective working practices.

    Skills & Experience

    * Minimum 3 years’ engineering experience within FMCG or a similar manufacturing environment.

    * Multi-skilled engineer with strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding ability.

    * Proven experience responding to equipment breakdowns and carrying out root cause analysis.

    * Experience working within a highly regulated industry.

    * Strong communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

    * Comfortable working under pressure within a fast-paced production environment.

    * Computer literate with experience using MS Office and CMMS systems.

    Qualifications

    * Engineering qualification to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an Electrical or Mechanical discipline.

    * Recognised engineering apprenticeship preferred.

    * Electrical regulations certification desirable.

    * Health & Safety / Basic Food Hygiene training advantageous.

    * Experience working in chilled or frozen environments beneficial.

    ✅ If you are a proactive, multi-skilled engineer looking to join a dynamic manufacturing environment, we would love to hear from you
