    Job description

    Job Title: Plant Boiler Operator

    Location: Bushey, Hertfordshire

    Salary: £38,000 - £40,000

    Shift: 4 on 4 off days and nights 

    A globally renowned manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Plant Boiler Operator to join their highly automated, state-of-the-art facility in Hertfordshire. The company supply products used across a wide variety of industries and are recognised for their commitment to quality, innovation and staff development. With customers across the UK and internationally, they have established themselves as a leader within their sector.

This commitment to development allows engineers and operators to continuously build their skill sets while progressing within the organisation.

    Due to recent investment and expansion across the site, the company is now looking to strengthen their utilities team. This growth has created additional opportunities for progression, including routes into supervisory positions and involvement in project work across the plant.

    The role will involve operating and monitoring industrial boilers and associated utilities systems, working across a mix of legacy and modern plant equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring critical site utilities are running safely, efficiently and in full compliance with site safety and quality standards.

    The utilities environment includes a range of water and plant systems such as:

    Industrial boilers and associated steam systems

    Water for Injection (WFI) systems

    Purified Water (PW) systems

    Deionised water systems

    Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems

    Associated cooling and utility plant

    Sector: Manufacturing / Engineering

    Non-Negotiable Requirements:

    Experience inspecting or operating boilers, stills, steam equipment, reverse osmosis systems or HVAC plant

    Previous experience within a factory or manufacturing environment

    Requirements:

    Practical experience operating or monitoring utilities or plant equipment

    Experience working in a fast-paced engineering or production environment

    Ability to carry out routine monitoring, checks and basic hands-on activities

    Strong safety awareness and ability to work with high-risk plant systems

    Ability to act as a first-line responder to plant issues, making systems safe and escalating faults where necessary

    Experience working closely with engineering teams to support remedial activities

    Desirable Requirements:

    Experience within pharmaceutical, food or other regulated manufacturing environments

    Exposure to high-purity water systems such as WFI, PW or deionised water

    BOAS (Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme) certification

    Certified Industrial Boiler Operator qualification or equivalent

    Utilities-focused training or strong on-the-job experience with plant systems
