Key Responsibilities
Core Duties:
* Install, maintain, and repair materials handling systems, including chains, conveyors, sprockets, bearings, valves, and associated mechanical equipment.
* Provide on-site mechanical support to customers, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
* Work from engineering drawings, identifying discrepancies, changes, or omissions and feeding these back to enable drawing updates.
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with approved Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
* Strictly follow Safe Systems of Work, including Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and site-specific safety rules.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related discipline).
* Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high safety standards.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work in a fast-paced environment.
* Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
* A proactive, solution-focused approach to work.
* Full UK driving licence.
Working Environment & Conditions:
* Predominantly field-based at customer sites across the UK.
* Regular travel required; overnight stays will be necessary depending on location.
* Shutdown work may involve 12-hour shifts and up to 13 consecutive working days, in line with Working Time Regulations and agreed opt-outs where applicable

£32000.00 - £38000.00 per year
