    Job description

    Support Worker

    We currently have an opportunity for a full-time (37.5 hours per week) Support Worker to join our team at Haselwood Avenue in Hoddesdon. This service provides day-to-day support to adults with learning disabilities, including personal care, hoisting, meal preparation, and assistance with medication, all delivered with compassion, dignity and respect.

    What You Will Do

    As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in empowering individuals to live independently and confidently. Your responsibilities will include:

    Assessing needs and creating personalised support plans that reflect individual aspirations.
    Promoting independence through life skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and budgeting.
    Providing personal care with sensitivity and respect for each person’s dignity.
    Following and contributing to risk assessments and management plans to ensure safety and wellbeing.
    Supporting aspirations and helping individuals achieve their goals.
    Assisting with the induction and mentoring of new team members, fostering collaboration and shared learning.You will be part of a supportive team that values inclusion and works together to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

    About You

    We are looking for someone with experience in the care or support sector who brings a proactive attitude and a genuine desire to help others thrive. You will need to:

    Communicate effectively and adapt to different needs and preferences.
    Be flexible and reliable, able to work shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
    Work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
    Be committed to equality, diversity, and person-centred care.We will support your development with a structured induction, comprehensive training, and the opportunity to gain an accredited vocational qualification.

    Generous annual leave allowance of 33 days per year, including statutory bank holidays, rising to 35 days with service (pro rata).
    £25,857 per annum for a 37.5-hour week contract or £13.26 per hour.
