    Scheme Manager - Leasehold Housing for Older People

    Location: Solihull
    Contract: Full-time
    Pay rate: £39.28 per hour

    About the Role

    We are seeking a compassionate, organised, and customer-focused Scheme Manager to oversee the Leasehold Scheme for the Elderly. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the scheme is well-managed, safe, and maintained to a high standard, while providing day‑to‑day support, guidance, and advocacy for residents.

    You will act as the main point of contact for the residents, offering reassurance, delivering excellent customer service, and helping to uphold a warm, supportive community environment.

    This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of older residents by ensuring their homes, wellbeing, and independence are at the heart of how the scheme operates.

    Key Responsibilities

    Serve as the primary contact between residents and the organisation
    Oversee the general running of the scheme, including supervising on‑site contractors and ensuring high standards of work.
    Develop a strong working knowledge of relevant leasehold agreements and provide accurate advice to residents.
    Maintain up‑to‑date emergency contact and support information for all residents.
    Conduct and record internal and external inspections, raising and resolving maintenance or compliance issues promptly.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth operations across the scheme.
    Champion best practice and continuously seek ways to enhance the service for residents.
    Work towards performance targets and identify any barriers alongside your line manager.
    Undertake safeguarding training and identify, record, and escalate concerns appropriately, in line with local authority procedures.
    Update risk assessments regarding health, safety, and lone working.What We're Looking For

    You will bring experience, professionalism, empathy, and the ability to engage effectively with older or vulnerable residents. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

    Essential Skills & Experience

    Experience within social housing, statutory, voluntary, care or support sector environments.
    Knowledge of relevant housing legislation and regulatory frameworks.
    Understanding of older persons' health, housing, and support needs.
    Experience supporting vulnerable or older people, including those under stress or displaying challenging behaviours.
    Strong customer service skills and the ability to resolve issues sensitively and effectively.
    Awareness of health and safety risks in older persons' accommodation (e.g. fire safety, slips, trips, falls).
    Clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and escalation procedures.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Numeracy and data skills enabling understanding of service charges and apportionments.
    Confidence working alone and assessing risks, particularly in residents' homes.
    Professionalism, integrity, and the ability to maintain boundaries while building trust.
    A basic DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).Desirable
