    Project Electrical Engineer – Manufacturing
    Location: South Norfolk
    Starting Salary: £50,000
    Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Mon–Thurs 8:00–16:00, Fri 8:00–13:30)
A well-established manufacturing business in South Norfolk is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a technically focused role requiring a highly capable engineer who can take ownership of complex fault finding, root cause analysis, and improvement of legacy production equipment.
This position will suit an engineer with strong experience working on older or obsolete machinery, who is confident diagnosing complex electronic faults and implementing long-term engineering solutions.
Alongside technical troubleshooting, the successful candidate will also support major Capex investment projects, providing technical input and guidance based on previous project experience.
Due to the complexity of the equipment and the current demands of the engineering team, this role requires someone who can operate at a high level from day one with minimal supervision or training.
    Key Responsibilities
    *
Carry out in-depth root cause analysis on complex electronic faults across production equipment
    *
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues on legacy and obsolete control systems and machinery
    *
Provide expert technical support to resolve recurring or critical equipment failures
    *
Support Capex investment projects, offering technical guidance and engineering expertise
    *
Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications, and long-term reliability improvements
    *
Work closely with production and engineering teams to maintain high equipment availability
    Requirements
    *
Significant experience as an Electronics Engineer within a manufacturing or industrial environment
    *
Proven ability to carry out advanced fault finding and root cause analysis
    *
Experience working with older or legacy equipment where documentation or support may be limited
    *
Previous involvement in engineering projects or Capex investment programmes
    *
Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership when required
    *
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electronics engineer to join a stable and well-established manufacturer where they can play a key role in solving complex engineering challenges and influencing future equipment investment.
