Are you an experienced HGV Technician looking for a dynamic role with flexible shift patterns and excellent career progression? We have a fantastic opportunity for a skilled technician to join a busy commercial vehicle service operation in Portsmouth.
This is a varied role that will see you working on a wide range of commercial vehicles, carrying out service, maintenance, and repairs to the highest standards. You’ll be a key part of a dedicated team, liaising with workshop controllers, foremen, and service staff to ensure vehicles are maintained efficiently and customers receive exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:

Inspect vehicles and carry out general servicing

Diagnose faults and repair vehicle defects
*
Perform road tests and prepare vehicles for MOTs
*
Provide breakdown and roadside assistance, including call-out duties
*
Complete all paperwork accurately and promptly
What We’re Looking For:
*
Qualified HGV Technician (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
*
Qualified Roadside Recovery Technician
*
Previous experience in the commercial vehicle sector
*
Full UK Driving Licence (HGV licence preferred but not essential)
*
Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and team-oriented approach
*
Commitment to high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service
Salary & Benefits:

£45,000 – £55,000 per year, very competitive

Shift allowance included
*
Various shifts available: early, day, late, and night
*
Permanent evening shift option (45-hour week): 1.00pm – 10.30pm
*
Split shift arrangement:
- Week 1: 6.00am – 3.30pm (Mon-Fri)
- Week 2: 1.00pm – 10.30pm (Mon-Fri)
