How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A Site Inspector is required to join the Building Safety team of a well-established architectural practice based in the Midlands.

Due to a growing workload, the practice is seeking a Site Inspector to support projects primarily located across the Midlands. The role will also require flexibility to travel to other project sites across the UK, as well as occasional visits to the Manchester and London offices.

Key Responsibilities of a Site Inspector:

    * Conduct regular site inspections on residential construction projects, with a focus on high-rise and tall building developments.

    * Review construction works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and relevant building regulations.

    * Carry out Internal Fire Safety investigations/Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), ensuring they meet regulatory and design requirements.

    * Assess façade systems, external wall build-ups and materials to ensure compliance with current standards, including restrictions relating to combustible materials.

    * Identify construction issues, non-compliance, or quality concerns and report findings to the project team.

    * Work closely with architects, contractors, consultants and client representatives to ensure works are delivered to the required quality and safety standards.

    * Maintain accurate site inspection records, reports and photographic documentation.

    * Ensure adherence to relevant warranty provider requirements, including NHBC standards.

    Qualifications

Level 6 construction qualification or HNC/HND/construction-related discipline.

Membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS, CIOB, CABE, ICWCI or MIFireE would be advantageous.

    Experience

Strong technical understanding of Building Regulations.

Experience inspecting fire safety measures in construction projects.

Experience of high-rise residential buildings, façades and combustible materials.

This is an excellent career development opportunity for a Site Inspector. The role offers a salary of £50,000–£55,000, along with pension, health insurance and a range of additional company benefits
