    Job description

    Job Type: Full-time, permanent role – 40 hours per week.
    9-hour shifts (including a 1-hour break) worked on a 5-days-on, 2-days-off rota, Monday to Sunday, depending on operational needs.

    ROLE PURPOSE

    The Senior Housekeeper plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, comfortable, and impeccably maintained environment across the development. By delivering exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service, this role helps ensure that homeowners, guests, and visitors enjoy a consistently positive experience.

    This is a hands-on position with supervisory responsibility, combining practical housekeeping duties with team coordination. The Senior Housekeeper supports the housekeeping team in maintaining high service standards, ensuring safety compliance, and promoting efficient day-to-day operations.

    The role reports directly to the Front of House Manager and contributes significantly to the overall resident and guest experience.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Hands-On Housekeeping Duties

    * Clean and maintain communal areas including lounges, corridors, lifts, spa/pool facilities, offices and all shared spaces to a consistently high standard.

    * Support apartment cleaning, including deep cleans prior to homeowners’ move-in, and respond promptly to any specific cleaning requests as required.

    * Collect rubbish from residential floors and communal areas as part of routine housekeeping duties.

    * Manage in-house laundry operations including washing, replenishing and organising linens, towels, tablecloths and napkins, and changing bed linen when required.

    * Ensure all housekeeping areas remain clean, organised and fully stocked at all times.

    Supervisory & Operational Responsibilities

    * Lead by example through active participation in daily housekeeping duties.

    * Prepare and manage team rotas to ensure appropriate staffing levels and operational efficiency.

    * Supervise, support and motivate the housekeeping team on a day-to-day basis.

    * Monitor stock levels, manage stock rotation and coordinate ordering of cleaning supplies and materials.

    * Carry out regular quality checks to maintain presentation and cleanliness standards, coordinate with Management.

    * Report maintenance issues, damages or safety concerns promptly.

    Training, Compliance & Safety

    * Maintain strong COSHH awareness and ensure safe handling of cleaning chemicals.

    * Train team members on cleaning product usage, equipment handling and safe systems of work.

    * Follow all Health & Safety policies to ensure a safe environment for residents, staff, contractors and visitors.

    * Promote sustainability and environmentally responsible housekeeping practices.

    * Deliver excellent customer service to residents, guests and visitors while communicating professionally with colleagues, contractors and management.

    * Handle sensitive information with discretion and promote teamwork, respect and collaboration across departments.

    * Effective rota management, stock control and operational organisation.

    FLEXIBILITY

    This role may require additional reasonable duties in line with operational needs. Responsibilities may evolve to support business requirements. A valid driving licence would be beneficial.

Applications are encouraged from those who have worked as Senior Housekeepers, Housekeeping Supervisors, Private Housekeepers, Hospitality Attendants, Care Home Housekeepers, Cleaners, or in similar roles where attention to detail, discretion, and outstanding service are essential
