    Job description

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support our payroll function on a 3-month contract. Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate must be able to hit the ground running, learn processes quickly, and work efficiently with minimal supervision.

Our current payroll system requires a significant amount of manual processing, so strong computer skills and confidence using Microsoft Excel are essential. While previous extensive payroll experience is helpful, it is not essential; we are looking for someone who is highly organised, quick to learn, and comfortable handling data accurately.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Assist with the preparation and processing of payroll information.

    * Enter, check, and reconcile payroll data using Microsoft Excel.

    * Perform manual calculations and data checks to ensure payroll accuracy.

    * Maintain and update payroll records.

    * Support the payroll team with administrative and data-related tasks.

    * Identify and resolve discrepancies in payroll data where possible.

    * Ensure all work is completed accurately and within required deadlines.

    Key Requirements

    * Strong Microsoft Excel skills and general computer literacy.

    * High attention to detail and accuracy when handling data.

    * Ability to pick up new systems and processes very quickly.

    * Highly organised with the ability to manage workload independently.

    * Comfortable working with manual processes and large volumes of data.

    * A proactive attitude and willingness to get on with tasks.

    Desirable (but not essential)

    * Previous experience working in payroll or finance administration.

    * Experience working with spreadsheets and data reconciliation.

This is a short-term role ideal for someone who is confident with Excel, quick to learn, and able to step into a busy environment and start contributing immediately.

Motor Parts Direct has been acquired by Motus. A diversified (non-manufacturing) business in the automotive sector with unrivalled scale and scope in South Africa, and a selected international presence, primarily in the United Kingdom and Australia and a limited presence in South East Asia, and Southern and East Africa.

Motus Group (UK) Ltd. encompasses the UK's largest independent commercial vehicle dealer group and, with its passenger vehicle interests included, ranks inside from the Top 15 of all UK automotive dealer groups.
