How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    CNC Machinist (Miller)

    We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist (Miller) to join our team working to EN9100 standards in the aerospace and defence sectors.

    * Location: Brentwood Essex

    * Salary: £17 - £22 per hour (depending on experience)

    * Full time / Permanent

    * Day shift: 39 hours per week

    * Monday to Thursday 8am – 4.30pm / Friday 8am -3.30pm

    Key role and accountabilities:
    To set and operate CNC milling machines.

    * Produce accurate, high quality components with maximum efficiency

    * Competently set and operate Mazak CNC horizontal and vertical machining centres

    * Work to tight tolerances and check your own work meets the required standards

    * To work on your own initiative and understand all aspects of the manufacturing processes

    * Quality check your finished components

    * Clean and maintain CNC machine and all associated equipment and machine area.

    * Working to EN9100 standards

    Core skills/attributes needed:

    * Fully skilled/experienced/time served CNC setter/operator

    * Experience on horizontal and/or vertical milling machines

    * Programming experience would be an advantage but not essential

    * Ability to interpret engineering drawings

    * Able to use a wide variety of measuring equipment (Micrometers/calipers/gauges)

    * Be able to concentrate and produce quality finished components

    * Ability to pay attention to detail

    * Able to apply good practical skills and to follow written instructions

    * Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

    * Able to work safely and follow all health and safety protocols
