A long-established regional contractor is looking to strengthen its commercial team with Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors across a number of secured and upcoming schemes in Oxford.
The projects combine new build student accommodation, infrastructure works and a major heritage refurbishment, offering the opportunity to work across different project types within the same delivery team.
These are permanent positions within a contractor known for delivering design-led projects, heritage refurbishments and complex construction schemes across the South East.
The Projects
Student Accommodation Development
£20m design & build student accommodation scheme
• Two-stage tender already secured
• 70-week construction programme
• Opportunity for a Project QS or Senior QS to take commercial responsibility alongside the project team
Infrastructure Works
£3m enabling and infrastructure package
• Contractor currently in preferred position
• Early contractor involvement with input into design rationalisation and procurement strategy
• Opportunity for a Project QS or Senior QS to help shape the commercial setup ahead of main works
Refurbishment Scheme
Potential £30m refurbishment of an estate
• Likely to follow infrastructure works and run in tandem with landscaping phases
• Complex refurbishment project involving existing structures and heritage considerations
• Opportunity to join the commercial team early and support project development
The Roles
Responsibilities may include:
Managing subcontractor procurement and package buy-out
• Preparing valuations, variations and financial reporting
• Supporting cost planning and commercial strategy
• Managing subcontractor accounts through to final account
• Working closely with project managers, design teams and clients
• Supporting commercial delivery across multiple project phases
What they’re looking for
Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with contractor experience
• Comfortable working on design & build and refurbishment projects
• Strong commercial awareness and subcontractor management capability
• Ability to work collaboratively within a project delivery team
• Interest in design-led and technically complex projects
