Qualiteach Yorkshire are looking for a full time experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant for a school in LS8, Leeds. This will include mentoring children who can exhibit challenging behaviour and require a consistent, trusted adult to support them. The school are looking for someone with a range of experience to join their team ASAP.
The Role:
* Can involve working with children on a 1:1 and group basis who have a variety of needs, tailoring learning to suit them
* Working within a team and helping to build a comfortable environment for all children and staff, supporting challenging behaviour and SEN requirements
* Following care plans, EHCP’s, Pupil Passports and other relevant documents where necessary
* Using a holistic approach within a multi-disciplinary team of specialists
* Delivering small group and one-to-one interventions to support the teacher in students development
What you will need:
* Experience of working with children who have complex needs
* A willingness to ‘jump in’ and help where necessary
* Being a positive role model and influence, able to build trust
* The ability to support challenging behaviour, encourage independence and be patient and willing to build long lasting relationships with pupils
* Have a good awareness of safeguarding procedures
