    Job description

    Job Summary:
    Workshop-based Mechanical Fitter responsible for the assembly, maintenance, and refurbishment of power and distribution transformers. The role involves mechanical fitting, core and coil handling, tank work, and supporting transformer manufacturing and repair activities in line with quality and safety standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    *

    Mechanical assembly and dismantling of power and distribution transformers

    *

    Fitting of cores, windings, tanks, radiators, conservators, and accessories

    *

    Alignment, torquing, sealing, and gasket installation

    *

    Use of lifting equipment for heavy transformer components

    *

    Support transformer repairs, modifications, and refurbishments

    *

    Read and work from engineering drawings and specifications

    *

    Maintain workshop safety, housekeeping, and quality standards

    Skills & Experience:

    *

    Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a transformer workshop or heavy electrical plant

    *

    Knowledge of power and distribution transformer construction

    *

    Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and assembly instructions

    *

    Experience with hand tools, torque tools, and lifting equipment

    *

    Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
