How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A market-leading structural engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to join its London team, based in Shoreditch. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects and working closely with colleagues and clients to deliver thoughtful, buildable structural solutions across a diverse portfolio.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of engineers and technicians working on a varied mix of projects across London and the wider UK. Schemes range from complex refurbishments and adaptive re-use projects through to new-build developments across residential, commercial, and mixed-use sectors. You’ll play a key role in delivering projects from concept through to completion, contributing to innovative structural design while working closely with Associates and senior leadership. The practice offers a supportive environment where engineers are trusted with responsibility and encouraged to develop both technically and professionally.
This opportunity would suit a Senior Structural Engineer with at least five years’ experience who has developed strong technical and project delivery skills within the UK consultancy environment. You will be comfortable working across a variety of materials, with solid reinforced concrete frame experience essential, and confident leading projects under the guidance of senior staff. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with clients, architects, and internal teams are key.
    What’s On Offer
    * Exposure to a wide and interesting portfolio including complex refurbishments, new builds, and architecturally driven developments.
    * Genuine responsibility on projects with clear progression toward Associate level.
    * A collaborative, design-focused engineering environment where ideas and innovation are encouraged.
    * Support toward professional development and Chartership (if not already achieved).
    * Modern Shoreditch office location within a vibrant design and creative district.
    What You Need To Succeed
    * Minimum five years’ structural engineering experience, currently operating at Senior Engineer level.
    * Strong UK consultancy experience delivering projects from concept through detailed design.
    * Demonstrable experience working across multiple materials, particularly reinforced concrete frame structures.
    * Experience across a range of project types including new build and refurbishment schemes.
    * Ability to lead projects and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams under Associate-level supervision.
    * Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with clients, architects, and contractors.
    * Experience using industry design software (e.g. Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, or similar).
    * Chartered Engineer status with the IStructE/ICE (or actively working towards) is highly desirable.
    * A strong academic background with a BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
