School Administrator & PA to Leadership

    Location: Blackpool, Lancashire

Salary: Up to £30,000 (FTE) depending on experience Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (Term Time + 2 weeks preferred)

Start Date: April 2026 (After Easter Break)

    The Role

We are looking for a highly organised, resilient, and proactive School Administrator to become the operational heartbeat of our Blackpool-based Alternative Provision. This is not a "standard" school office role; you will be the first point of contact for vulnerable families, a gatekeeper for safeguarding compliance, and a key support to the Senior Leadership Team.

You will manage the intersection of Admissions, Procurement, and HR Compliance, ensuring that our environment remains safe, efficient, and welcoming for students who need a fresh start in education.

    Key Responsibilities

Admissions & Records: Lead the end-to-end admissions process, coordinating with the Local Authority and referring schools to ensure a smooth transition for new students.

Safer Recruitment & SCR: Take full ownership of the Single Central Record (SCR). Manage the recruitment cycle from advertising to enhanced DBS checks, ensuring 100% compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2025/26.

Personal Assistant Support: Provide high-level administrative support to the Principal, including diary management, confidential correspondence, and meeting minutes.

Procurement & Finance: Manage the school's purchasing systems, liaising with suppliers to ensure best value for money and maintaining accurate financial records.

Front of House: Act as a professional and empathetic first point of contact for visitors, parents, and external agencies via telephone and in person.

    Essential Criteria

School Experience: You must have previous experience working in a school office environment (Primary, Secondary, or SEND/AP).

Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in school MIS systems (e.g., SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom) and financial software.

Compliance Expertise: A strong understanding of Safer Recruitment practices and GDPR within an educational setting.

Resilience: The ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment where student needs can change rapidly.

Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with total discretion.

    Why Join Us?

Competitive Salary: A starting salary of up to £30,000, reflecting the high level of responsibility in this role.

Purpose-Driven Work: Play a vital role in a setting that provides a lifeline to young people in the Blackpool area.

Professional Autonomy: Lead on key administrative projects and shape the efficiency of our back-office functions.

    How to Apply

In line with our Safer Recruitment Policy, we cannot accept CVs alone. Please request an application pack from [Email Address] or download it from our website.
