    Job description

Our client is a well-established engineering company in the industrial automation sector seeking a Service Engineer to join their growing team. They design, install, commission, and service control systems for major industrial clients. With a strong portfolio of long-term service contracts and increasing demand from key clients, our client is expanding their engineering team and looking for technically capable Service Engineers to support their field service operations. This is a field-based role covering the Yorkshire and North West regions supporting a range of industrial customers. The position combines planned maintenance, project installation work, and reactive support on industrial controls equipment.

The work breakdown is approximately 60% planned service and maintenance under annual service contracts, 20% project work including upgrades and new installations, and 20% reactive call-outs and fault finding. The position offers a basic salary between £40,000 and £50,000 depending on experience. On top of this premium overtime is paid above your contracted hours and travel time is paid door-to-door. Most work is completed within normal working hours and engineers typically return home each day. Overnight stays may occasionally be required for larger projects, but this is rare.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and growing engineering company offering varied work, strong overtime potential and long-term career development.

liaising with on-site maintenance teams and customer engineering staff

strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential

an apprenticeship-trained engineering background or strong practical engineering experience is preferred
