How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEND Teaching Assistant – Long-Term Opportunity
    📍 Sheffield – S11
    🕒 Full-time (flexible) | Long-term
    💰 £95 - £120 (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

    Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a real difference in children’s lives?

    Our education supply agency is working alongside a supportive and inclusive specialist school in Sheffield that is looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis.

    The school is committed to helping every student reach their full potential academically, socially and emotionally. Staff work together to create a safe, accepting and nurturing environment where pupils feel supported, valued and ready to learn.

    This role focuses on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities using a trauma-informed and child-centred approach. The right candidate will help pupils build confidence, independence and the skills they need for the future.

    Key responsibilities

    * Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND

    * Use a trauma-informed approach to support emotional and behavioural needs

    * Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

    * Support learning both inside and outside the classroom

    * Help create a calm, structured and nurturing environment

    The ideal candidate will have

    * Proven experience working with SEND pupils

    * A patient, empathetic and child-centred approach

    * Understanding of trauma-informed practice

    * Strong communication and teamwork skills

    * Confidence supporting pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs

    Requirements:

    * An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service

    * A strong understanding of safeguarding and a Level 1 (or higher) safeguarding certificate

    * Two recent professional references
