How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    This is an exciting opportunity to join an existing team within the NPD department, the client is seeking a NPD Technician; someone who is proficient in the use of Solidworks and AutoCAD.  Someone who is able to achieve a very high level of accuracy and attention to detail, who can work on multiple projects and to deadlines.   This NPD Technician role will involve being responsible for product development from conception through to the product launch, supporting in the development on a 3D printer, through to testing as well - so it's a very involved role.  Enhancing existing products, identifying cost saving options, providing bespoke solutions for clients and being involved in the testing and analysis of the products, market analysis of competitors, site visits as well as maintaining documentation - so its very much an active role.
      
    Job Description for the NPD Technician role:

    Product development; concept to product launch
    Implementing product design enhancements
    Value engineering products to identify and achieve cost savings
    To provide design solutions for individual customer requirements
    Construction of prototypes for testing and analysis
    Direct involvement with materials and processes for manufacturing
    Training and presenting new products to other areas of the business
    Researching new materials and design techniques
    Market analysis to assess competitor and product landscapes
    Visiting sites to review product issues
    Good housekeeping of all NPD documentation, including, Bills of Materials, special product requests, technical specification documents, drilling drawings, and product change notices Candidate Requirements for the NPD Technician role:  

    Solid works experience
    AutoCAD experience
    Excellent time management skills.
    Self-project management and ability to work to deadlines to achieve timely product launches
    Excellent accuracy & attention to detail.
    A hands-on approach.
    A positive attitude to all challenges
    A general all round ability to communicate at all levels. This role is commutable from: Biddulph, Stafford, Market Drayton, Stone, Uttoxeter, Stoke on Trent, Newcastle under Lyme.
     
    This role would suit candidates with the following experience: NPD Coordinator, Product Technologist, New Product Development Technicians.
     
    Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
    Salary: £35,000 to £42,000 Per Annum
