How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an excellent development role for someone with strong attention to detail, good numeracy skills and an interest in engineering or manufacturing. Full training and support will be provided.

    Role Purpose

The Junior Estimator will assist in preparing quotations, responding to customer RFQs, tracking orders and supporting internal coordination. The role provides essential administrative and analytical support to ensure accurate costings, timely customer responses and smooth order progression.

    Key Responsibilities

    · Support the preparation of quotations and costings under guidance from senior colleagues.

    · Log and follow up customer RFQs to help convert opportunities into confirmed orders.

    · Maintain accurate records of quotations, costings and customer interactions.

    · Assist in monitoring the order book and supporting reports on monthly progress.

    · Work closely with Production, Planning and Procurement to confirm availability and timelines.

    · Update internal systems with pricing, lead times and customer information.

    · Support continuous improvement by identifying small inefficiencies or data issues.

    · Carry out general administrative tasks and provide support to the wider sales/operations team.

    Skills and Qualifications (Junior Level)

    · Ideally some experience within an engineering, manufacturing, aerospace or technical environment (desirable but not essential).

    · Strong numeracy skills with the ability to understand basic cost calculations.

    · Good communication skills and willingness to learn commercial and customer-facing processes.

    · Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling data and documents.

    · Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel); training will be provided.

    · Organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and work within deadlines.

    · A collaborative team player who is open to feedback and development.

    · Flexibility to support different tasks as business needs evolve.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) – Junior Level

    · Quotation Accuracy: Quality and reliability of data used in costings.

    · Response Time: Speed of logging RFQs and providing updates to senior colleagues.

    · Data Quality: Accuracy of records, files and system entries.

    · Order Conversion Contribution: Supporting activities that contribute to successful conversions.

    · Internal Feedback: Positive feedback from Production, Planning, Procurement and Sales.

    · On-Time Task Completion: Completing assigned tasks within agreed timeframes
