We are seeking a resilient and engaging Cover Supervisor to join our specialist Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) school. This role is perfect for someone who can lead a room with empathy and authority, whether you are qualified or an unqualified professional with strong behaviour management skills.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Classroom Management: Leading lessons in the absence of the teacher, ensuring pupils remain on task and engaged.
SEMH Support: Implementing trauma-informed approaches to manage challenging behaviours and emotional outbursts.
Consistency: Following school policies strictly to provide the stable environment our pupils need.
Adaptability: Delivering pre-set work across various subjects to pupils with diverse learning needs.
Reporting: Providing feedback on pupil progress and the classroom organisation to the Senior Leadership Team.Candidate Requirements

We welcome applications from both qualified and unqualified Cover Supervisors.

Experience: Previous experience in a school, youth centre, or regulated childcare setting is highly desirable.
Resilience: A thick skin and the ability to remain calm and professional during high-pressure situations.
Presence: The ability to command respect through positive reinforcement and clear boundaries.
DBS: Must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to organise a new one.
