    Job description

    Portfolio Payroll are delighted to be partnering with a forward‑thinking local authority as they continue to strengthen their Pay & Pensions function. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, people‑focused team during a period of positive change and system transformation.

    As a Pay and Pensions Officer, you'll be responsible for calculating and processing salaries, allowances, deductions and statutory payments, ensuring everything is completed in line with legislation and council policies. You'll also support LGPS, TPS and NHS pension administration, offering clear advice on contributions, auto‑enrolment and scheme benefits. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast‑paced environment are essential.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, working with data and contributing to a service that directly supports local communities.
