    Job description

    Manufacturing Engineer - Precision Machining

    Location: North West UK

    Salary: Competitive (DOE)

    Type: Full-time, Permanent

A highly regarded precision engineering manufacturer is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join its operations team, supporting the production of complex, high-quality components for demanding industrial applications.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an engineer who understands life on the shop floor and enjoys working at the interface between manufacturing, engineering, and design. It would suit someone looking to develop their career in a technically strong, quality-driven environment.

    The Role

As Manufacturing Engineer, you will act as the key link between the shop floor and the design function, ensuring that products are manufactured efficiently, repeatably, and to the highest standards. You will support new and existing processes, help resolve production issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

The business operates in a precision machining environment, producing tight-tolerance components, and values engineers who can combine practical experience with structured engineering thinking.

    Key Responsibilities

Acting as the interface between design engineering and manufacturing
Supporting CNC machining and production processes to improve efficiency and quality
Reviewing drawings and designs to ensure manufacturability
Providing technical support to the shop floor
Assisting with process development, tooling, and work instructions
Contributing to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Supporting problem solving around quality, yield, and repeatability

    About You

Background in precision engineering or manufacturing
Apprenticeship-trained in CNC machining, fitting, or similar or degree-qualified with strong shop-floor exposure
Experience in a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Tooling Engineer or similar role
Experience in precision machining environments such as automotive, aerospace, or similar sectors
Some experience using CAD software (any mainstream package)
Practical, detail-focused, and comfortable working across teams

    Why This Role

Join a business with an excellent reputation for quality and engineering capability
Work closely with both production and design teams
    Technically interesting products and processes
Stable, growing organisation with long-term career potential
Opportunity to develop into more senior engineering or operational roles over time

This role would suit a hands-on manufacturing engineer who enjoys solving real production challenges and wants to play a key part in how products move from design to manufacture
