How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: CNC Miller
    Location: Skelton
    Hourly Rate: £20.91 per hour (including shift allowance)
    Shifts:
    2-week rotating shift pattern (compressed hours):

    * Days: Monday–Thursday, 07:00–17:30

    * Nights: Monday–Wednesday 19:00–05:00, Thursday 17:30–03:30

Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Miller to join their skilled machining team.

    Job Description

    This CNC Miller role offers the opportunity to work within a well-equipped machine shop producing precision components from billets, castings, fabrications, and forgings.

    As a CNC Miller, you will be responsible for setting, programming, and operating large CNC milling and boring machines using FANUC control systems. The CNC Miller will work on complex one-off and small batch components, ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy throughout the machining process.

    The CNC Miller will interpret engineering drawings, select appropriate tooling, set up jobs independently, and carry out accurate measurements using manual inspection equipment. A careful and quality-focused approach is essential as components are often high value and produced to tight tolerances.

    Skills & Experience

    A successful CNC Miller will ideally have the following:

    * Time-served machinist (machine shop apprenticeship or equivalent)

    * Experience operating CNC milling machines or horizontal borers

    * Ability to set and run one-off jobs independently

    * CNC programming experience

    * Strong measurement and inspection skills

    * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

    * Experience working with large machining centres

    * Familiarity with FANUC control systems
