How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Home Manager | Nursing Home | Elderly Care | East Sussex
    Stephen James Consulting continue to work with one of their established elderly care providers in the search for an experienced Home Manager for a large nursing home based in East Sussex.
    This well-established nursing home provides high-quality nursing, residential and dementia care within a welcoming and supportive environment. The service has strong foundations in place and requires a confident Home Manager to continue delivering excellent standards of care while supporting and developing the team.
    The successful candidate will oversee the clinical and operational performance of the nursing home, ensuring residents receive person-centred care while maintaining compliance and quality standards throughout the service.
    Key Responsibilities:
    * Manage, develop and evaluate all aspects of service provision within the home
    * Lead, support and motivate clinical and non-clinical teams
    * Maintain strong clinical governance and ensure compliance with CQC standards
    * Drive high-quality nursing and dementia care across the service
    * Oversee staffing, occupancy and day-to-day operational performance
    * Support continuous improvement and positive outcomes for residents
    Requirements:
    * Registered Nurse qualification (RGN) with active NMC PIN
    * Minimum 3 years’ experience within a nursing home management role
    * Previous experience managing CQC inspections
    * Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills
    * Passion for delivering outstanding elderly care
    Salary & Benefits:
