How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrical Test Engineer - Power Generation
    West Midlands Based with UK Wide Travel including Stay Away
    £45,000 - £55,000 + Overtime Opportunities + Progression Opportunities + Company Vehicle + Industry Training

    Are you a holder of HND/HNC in the Power sector and looking to progress up the ranks long term? Do you want to increase your earnings with overtime opportunities?

    If successful you will be joining a company providing testing and inspection to Power Generation facilities across the UK, Europe and US. As part of this they are looking for a motivated engineer to cover their UK facilities with international opportunities available if desired.

    Your role within the company will involve a wide variety of work with each day being different. When travelling to sites you will be involved with protection testing of generators, substations and transformers. When in the office you will be involved in completing documentation with the opportunity to learn or develop you experience in electrical design.

    The ideal candidate for this role will have a working knowledge of power generation including 3 phase power systems and testing of switchgears, transformers and substations. Experience in commissioning and electrical design is desirable however training can be provided on this.

    The Role

    * Electrical Testing at Power Generation sites across the UK

    * Site and Office based work - 60:40 split

    *Design training available

    * HNC or above in Power sector

    * Experience in testing of Switchgears, Transformers and Substations

    * Happy with UK wide travel and stay aways
